The Rockhouse Brothers

Jamie in action

When I went to the concert of the Wise Guys this May they announced that there would be a support for them before the show. I had never heard the name of the band before so I went there awaiting what the would play. At the time when we were waiting for entering the area this support band had their soundcheck. Already at the soundcheck I liked their music very much. It reminded me immediately of Dick Brave & the backbeats. I like Rock'n roll since I took dancing lessons as a teenager because I love to dance the Jive. All four of us girls liked what we heared so we stood up and took the music as a reason to dance and relax our painful legs. The three guys on stage seemed to be a little bit confused because after the soundcheck the bandleader informed us friendly in english that this was only the soundcheck. But we weren't the only ones who were not able to remain still. *g* The show itself was as good as the soundcheck. Great!

The band

The Rockhouse Brothers consist of three guys. Joe (Joey) Carnwath at the guitar, James (Jamie) Carnwath at the bass and Wolff Reichert aka "the wolfman" at the drums. The moderation of the show is done by Joey. Though it is in English there should not be any problem with the understanding because of his clear British accent. The show is very funny and fits perfectly to the atmosphere of the Rock'n Roll songs. Only the wide satin-suits of the guys are not to everyone's taste. I do not think they are that bad. So the guys have the chance to improve their looks during the show. *twinkle*

The music

The glockenspiel

As I already wrote at the beginning the guys mainly play Rock'n Roll songs. So nearly all of these songs are covered songs from the Beatles to Elvis and the Beach Boys. Lots of music to have fun and dance to it. One of the highlights of the show is the song "Everyday" when the "Wolfman" plays the drums, the "glockenspiel" at the same time. *does not want to tell you too much* But they also play some other songs that fit in this program.

History

The band started playing in the year 2001. James and Wolff met during their job at the musical "Buddy Holly" in Hamburg. After that the three of them started touring around as "Rockhouse Brothers". Of course all of them had played in other bands before but they had not played together. Unfortunately they are mostly touring around in the north of Germany even if they have been to Sweden and playing on a cruise through Asia. I guess after playing as support act for the Wise Guys they have found some new fans in Cologne as well. Hopefully they will play everywhere in Germany soon.

The guys have already three CDs and the fourth one will come soon. These CDs you can order at their website www.rockhousebrothers.de or you can buy them at their concerts:
